The “Candle in the Wind” singer was feted at a 70th birthday gala Saturday in Los Angeles that featured performances by Gaga and Wonder — who offered a duet of “Happy Birthday” — as well as Rosanne Cash and Ryan Adams. The event also celebrated John’s 50 years of collaboration with lyricist Bernie Taupin.

Gaga also performed stripped-down piano versions of a pair of her own hits, “Born This Way” and “Bad Romance,” while Adams covered John’s hit “Rocket Man,” according to Rolling Stone.

The gala was held at UCLA’s Hammer Museum and benefited the Elton John AIDS Foundation. Guests included James Corden, Katy Perry and Neil Patrick Harris, while video messages from the likes of Ellen DeGeneres, Bono and Prince Harry were played.

But first, there was a red carpet. Well, a tan carpet. A red one would have clashed with Sir Elton’s signature suit-and-sunglasses ensemble.

Katy Perry worked a slinky party dress and shoulder-grazing earrings for the occasion.

Neil Patrick Harris and husband David Burtka suited up to celebrate the Rocket Man.

Supermodel Heidi Klum was … supermodel Heidi Klum, looking flawless in a dress by former “Project Runway” contestant Christian Siriano.

And Jon Hamm and Jack McBrayer were just so excited to be there!

ohn recently told Beats 1’s Zane Lowe, “Some people don’t like birthdays, they don’t like celebrating, they don’t want to know about them, and I’ve always enjoyed my birthday.

“Seventy sounds so archaic, doesn’t it?” he continued. “When I was growing up, 70 sounded like the end of the world. But things have changed — you’re only as old as you feel inside.”

Happy birthday, Sir Elton!
