Encomiums, Praises As Aregbesola Celebrates 62nd Birthday

Today, Saturday May 25, 2019 is the 62nd Birthday anniversary of former Governor of the state of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.

Aregbesola was born into the family of Late Pa Ahmad Rufai Ali Aregbesola and Late Alhaja Saratu Aregbesola in 1957.

Graduating from The Polytechnic, Ibadan as a Mechanical engineer, Aregbesola began his political journey in the late 80s before the commencement of the 4th Republic In 1999.

Aregbesola who led the campaign of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Governor of Lagos state in 1999 became Commissioner For Works And Infrastructure, a position he held till 2007 when he ran for the seat of Governor of Osun.

After a prolonged legal battle in court, he was returned as the Governor of the state In November, 2010 winning re-election in 2014 to become the first governor to spend two terms and hand over to a successor from his party in the history of Osun politics.

To Mark his birthday, the 4th edition of Raufnomics in the transformation of Osun, an annual colloquium to mark his birthday is holding today at the De-Distinguished Events Centre, Iwo Road, Osogbo.

For the last one week, it has been a gale of encomiums for the celebrator. From his successor, Governor Gboyega Oyetola to the party hierarchy in the state And well-wishers from the National Level and beyond are showering encomiums on Aregbesola who they describe as an enigma, role model, trail blazer and the architect of modern Osun.
