The second day of the #EndBadGovernance nationwide protest by Nigerians went relatively peacefully across the state yesterday.
Unlike the first day, there were no reports of killing, looting, or destruction of public property on Friday.

Low TurnOut In Osun As
Muslim Protesters Observes Jum’uah Prayers Amidst Tight Security
The #Endbadgovernanceinnigeria protest continued today, Friday August, 2024 in Osogbo, Osun State capital with relatively low turn out of protesters.
The protesters, who took off from Freedom Park their convergence point were accompanied by security operatives from the Nigeria police Force, men of Nigeria Civil Defence Corps, Nigeria Immigration Servic among other security agents.
They marched through various streets including MDS road, Olaiya Junction, and Odi-Olowo street back to Olaiya bridge expressing their dissatisfaction with the Federal and State Governments’ policies.
In a remarkable display of faith, muslim faithfuls among the protesters observed Jum’uah prayers on the road, with security personnel providing cover for them.

Cop Kills Colleague
A policeman whose name has yet to be known has reportedly shot dead, one of his colleagues while shooting at protesters in Katsina State.
The deceased dead man, in some videos online was lying in a pool of blood after being shot by his colleague.
An X user, A.O. Yusuf who captioned the videos, wrote, “In the peak of unprofessionalism, a careless policeman killed his colleague and harmed civilians in Katsina.
Commenting on it, another user, Salako said, “This is a very sad & unfortunate watch. It is also evident that the Nigerian Police Force are the cascading indices of violence in the ongoing protests.
“If this video evidence didn’t exist, Ben Hundeyin & Muyiwa would have blamed it on protesters.
“A national squad of clowns.”
Immigration Officer Shots Self
Similarly, an immigration officer on Thursday, accidentally shot himself thrice in the foot while barricading protesters in Borno State.
The situation according to Leadership, caused pandemonium in Bulunkutu area of Maiduguri, the Borno State capital where the incident happened.
The sound of the gunshots further provoked the protesters who went wild with the thought that one of them was shot but became calm on discovering the truth about the shooting.
The self-wounded officer was part of a security team deployed to disperse a crowd of protesters in the state capital, Maiduguri.
The officer, whose identity has not been disclosed, was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, but his condition is currently unknown.
Video: Hired No Protest ‘Contractor’ Curses Tinubu #EndBadGovernance
In a twist of event, some protesters hired by government officials to do a counter-protest against the ongoing nationwide hunger protest have turned their back on their paymasters.
In a viral video watched by Osun Defender, some of the hired individuals said even though they were out to ‘Say No To Protest’, they knew things were very hard in the country.
The individuals who were mostly Hausas, spoke in Pidgin in the video.
One of the protesters also cursed President Bola Tinubu, daring the president to arrest him.
The man who spoke in Pidgin English said, “Make Mr President arrest me now, God punish am. We know we come here to say No to Protest but who he be?
Another of the hired No To Protest protesters, said, “We need peace for the country, we no want problem but make garri come. Even you wey dey video me no say garri too cost.
“Hungry dey my belle. No more protest but garri cost. To eat now is a problem.”
392 Arrested For Looting In Kano
Meanwhile, nemesis caught up with some people (392) suspected to have looted the NCC Industrial Park during the nationwide hunger and hardship protest in Kano State on Thursday arrested.
This was disclosed by the Kano State police command on Friday.
The suspects were also arrested in connection to looting of the Kano High Court, and other locations in the state on Thursday.

The spokesman for the Command, Abdullahi Kiyawa, while briefing newsmen, said the suspects were arrested with a large number of exhibits on them.
Osun Defender reports that the newly built NCC park was looted by hoodlums on Thursday.
Also, the ICT centre, scheduled for commissioning next week, was set ablaze during the unrest.
Kano, Jigawa Protesters Defy Curfew Order
Kano and Jigawa states once again become the epicenters of the #EndBadGovernment movement as protesters took to the streets on Friday, defying a government-imposed curfew.
Osun Defender recalls that the governments of Kano and Jigawa states had declared 24-hour curfew following significant violence and damage that occurred on the initial day of the nationwide hunger protest across the states.
