#EndBadGovernance: I’ll Take Your Demands To Tinubu – Adeleke Tells Protesters

The Osun State Government on Tuesday, said it is yet to receive the full consignment of rice palliative from the federal government to cushion the effect of the current economic hardship in the country.

The state Governor, Ademola Adeleke, made this known while received #EndBadGovernance protesters at the state Secretariat, Abere.

The Governor, represented by his deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi, however, acknowledged the receipt of rice palliative from the Federal government.

He attributed the delay in distributing the palliative to the fact that the state is yet to receive the full consignment.

Adeleke who appreciated the Osun youths for being peaceful throughout the protest, promised to table their demands to the Federal Government at the next National Economic Council meeting.

Adewusi told the protesters that, “On behalf of the Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, I want to thank you for being peaceful since the protest commenced.

“You are not fighting for yourself but the entire people of the state. We all know what is happening in the country.

“We’ve received your request, and I want to promise you that the Governor will present it at the next National Economic Council meeting.

“Among your demands to the state government during our last meeting, was the issue of bursary payment for Osun State students. I’m happy to tell you that all Osun Indigenes in Law school have collected their bursary.

“Also, on Agriculture, the state government has punched new tractors, and I want to urge you to set up a committee among yourselves so that you can have meetings with the state government on how the youth can also benefit from the government.

“On the issue of Federal allocations, we’ve not borrowed any money since we came to office and we are paying the workers regularly and also, we are offsetting the salary arrears we met on ground.

“On the rice palliative from the Federal government, Osun is yet to receive the full delivery and that is why we’ve not called you. When we wanted to distribute it, the Federal Government said we should hold on and get everything before distributing it to the people. “
