#EndBadGovernance: List Of States That Didn’t Participate In Protests

Amid the widespread #EndBadGovernance protests sweeping across Nigeria, a few states have notably avoided participating in the demonstrations.

The protests, which have highlighted the frustration and discontent of Nigerians over issues such as corruption, poor governance, and economic hardship, have been marked by significant turnout in many states in Nigeria.

However, some state did not joined in the protest against #EndBadGovernancelnNigeria.

Below are some of the states.

1. Ondo State

This state is located in the southwestern part of Nigeria and has not seen the same level of protest activity as its neighbouring states.

Despite the general unrest, Ondo has maintained a relatively peaceful atmosphere during this period.

The organizers of the protest announced their withdrawal some few hours to the commencement of the demonstration last week Thursday.

2. Abia State

Abia State, in the southeastern region, also avoided the protests. The state government and local leaders have reportedly engaged in proactive dialogue with residents to address their concerns, which may have contributed to the lack of demonstrations.

3. Anambra State

Similarly, Anambra State, another southeastern state, did not witness significant protest activity. The state has focused on internal mechanisms and local governance issues, which could have mitigated the impetus for joining the national protests.

4. Ebonyi State

Ebonyi State is another southeastern state where the protests did not gain traction. Local reports suggest that the state’s emphasis on maintaining public order and addressing socio-economic issues through local initiatives has played a role in this.

5. Enugu State

Enugu State, often seen as the heart of the southeastern region, also did not participate in the #EndBadGovernance protests.

The state government has been actively engaging with civil society and youth groups to address their grievances directly.

6. Imo State

Lastly, Imo State did not join the protest wave. The state has enjoined a relative peace since the protest commenced.

The absence of protests in these states contrasts sharply with the fervent demonstrations seen in other parts of the country. The reasons behind the lack of protests in these states vary, ranging from effective local governance and proactive engagement with residents to maintaining public order and addressing specific local concerns.
