A 27-year- old man, Akeem Onaolaji has been sentenced to three years imprisonment by an Osogbo Magistrate court for stealing items worth of N200,350.
The prosecutor, Inspector Fagboyinbo Abiodun while addressing the court said sometimes in December 2017, January 20, 2018, and February 23, 2018 at Temidire Estate, Osogbo, the accused person unlawfully entered into the shop of one Oginni Oluwasogo, Risikat Aderibigbe, and Bashirat Yusuf respectively.
The items stolen include, one wooden shelves, three pillow cases, and one dressing chair totaling N84,000, property of Oginni Oluwasogo.
The accused was also accused of stealing one and a half carton of Baron Wine valued N2,600, one pack of 1960 Origin, half carton of Joven valued N3700, one carton of Erujeje valued N3000, a carton of Seaman Schnapps valued N19,300, two cartons of Chelsea Dry Gin valued N13,200, one carton of Trophy Beer valued N4,000, one carton of Kronenbourg valued N4,000, one carton of Bottled Chelsea dry gin valued N7,000, three bottles of Mark Dowel valued N10,500, two bottles of Best valued N1,000, two bottles of Brandy valued N1,200, two bottles of Schenapp valued N2,000, ten pieces of Origin valued N3,200, four bottled Origin valued N3,200, one bottled 1960 origin valued N1,800, five cartons of soft drink valued N4,750, three cartons of Pepsi Cola valued N3,000, six bottles of Big Cola valued N8,400, all valued N94,650 properties of Risikat Aderibigbe.
Other items stolen by the convict include one gas cooker, rubbers of rice, rubbers of beans and other items, valued N21,700 property of Bashirat Yusuf
Inspector Fagboyinbo said the accused person, having stolen N200,350 worth of items, has committed an offence contrary and punishable under Sections 413, 390(9), and 515 Criminal Code Cap 34, Volume II Laws of Osun state of Nigeria, 2003.
Onaolaji who was an ex-convict had no legal representation, but pleaded guilty to the six- count charge levelled against him.
The Magistrate, Tunde Badmus then sentenced him to three years imprisonment.
