Victor Abayomi, a chef to the former governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, has been arrested in Osun State for allegedly stealing some items worth millions of naira at the ex-governor’s Ikoyi residence.
This was disclosed by the State Security Service prosecuting counsel, Joshua Babalola, before a Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
Babalola said the accused person was arrested at Old Garage in Osogbo, Osun State, on March 7, 2024.
Abayomi is facing two counts of charges bordering on conspiracy and theft pressed against him by the SSS.
The prosecuting counsel told the court that Abayomi and others who were still at large conspired to commit the offence.
The presiding magistrate, Mr. Peter Nwaka, ordered that the defendant be remanded at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre for 30 days.
Nwaka adjourned the case until April 8, 2024, for investigation and presentation of facts.
