The former Deputy Chief Whip of the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Gbenga Ogunkanmi, has lost his mother, Alhaja Fatimo Ayoni Ogunkanmi.
In a statement on Saturday, Hon. Ogunkanmi confirmed his mother passed away early on Saturday at the age of 85.
According to the statement, the burial activities will take place today at 4pm at her residence, Oke Odo, Iwo Road, Ileogbo.
“Our mother, Alhaja Fatimo Ayoni Ogunkanmi, passed away in the early hours of Saturday. We are still coming to terms with the loss, but we take comfort in the memories we shared with her.”
He expressed his deep sadness and grief over the loss of his beloved mother, describing her as a caring and compassionate woman who dedicated her life to the service of others.
Alhaja Fatimo Ayoni Ogunkanmi was Iyasuna of Quarib, Ofatedo, a respected community leader and a devoted mother, who will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the community.
He said, “Her passing has left a huge void in our lives, but we take comfort in the memories we shared with her and the lessons she taught us.
She was a woman of great faith, compassion, and kindness, who dedicated her life to serving others.”
