Embattled Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State of Osun, Prince Gboyega Famodun, has reportedly directed officials of the party at the ward level to suspend leaders of The Osun Progressives (TOP) in their various wards.
OSUN DEFENDER gathered that Famodun allegedly summoned some ward executives of the party in about three local government to his house in Osogbo, on Monday, where he directed them to go and suspend some of the TOP leaders from APC.
Sources at the meeting confided in the medium that some of the TOP leaders to be suspended include factional Chairman of the party, Hon. Rasaq Salinsile, his Secretary, Mr Adelani Baderinwa former Chairman of the party, Rev’d Lowo Adebiyi, former Speaker of the House of Assembly, Hon. Najeem Salaam, among others.
The suspension directive, according to the sources, is a plot to silent some members of the party who have been calling for Famodun’s removal amidst call for restructuring of the APC, following its electoral defeat in the July 16, 2022 governorship poll.
However, the medium was unable to confirm the readiness of the APC ward executives to carry out the suspension directive.
Responding to the allegation, the Spokesperson of the chairman, Mr. Kola Olabisi, said he was not aware of the directive.
