The Registrar of Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, has stated that the board would improve its service delivery in the wake of the recent exposure of fake degrees mills in the country and neighbouring African Countries.

Oloyede made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ibadan, Oyo State capital on Friday.

Speaking on the state of education in the country, “We will also ensure that our services are better delivered, it had been improving and would continue to improve”, he said.

The JAMB registrar said that while he believed that education was improving, everybody must do his or her part to make the sector greater.

He further commended the moves by the Federal Government to investigate the fake universities and certificates being awarded to Nigerians.

“I think the honourable minister (of education) is doing the right thing. In Nigeria, at times, when we run into one small problem, the solutions could be more disastrous.

“He has done the right thing by constituting a committee to look into the problem and recommend ways out.

“The committee will come up with facts, and we can now work on those facts.”

He stated that JAMB would stabilise some of the innovations that were employed in the quality of the body’s work.
