Farotimi Blasts Wike, Calls Him ‘Poster Boy Of Ruin’
Human rights lawyer and political activist, Dele Farotimi, has launched a blistering attack on Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, branding him the “poster boy of the Nigerian ruining class.”
In a post on X, Farotimi wrote, “Nyesom Wike: poster boy of the Nigerian ruining class. Cacophonous, parasitic, narcissistic, Lilliputian, gluttonous, myopic, and completely untouched by any desire for immortality.”
He ended the post with the Nigerian flag and vomiting face emojis.
Farotimi, known for his consistent advocacy for good governance, is one of the fiercest critics of the current political establishment.
His statement has sparked intense reactions online, with some supporting his views while others criticised his tone.
Though he didn’t elaborate further, Farotimi’s post is believed to be connected to Wike’s recent attacks on the opposition coalition operating under the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The coalition features top politicians including Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and David Mark.
Commenting on the coalition’s chances in the 2027 elections, Farotimi said, “The coalition might well win the elections in 2027, but they would have wasted their time and energy if they do not insist on meaningful electoral reforms.
“Any coalition that is not demanding and working towards the implementation of meaningful electoral reforms is brainless.”
Farotimi also questioned the credibility of the electoral process under the current administration:
“What manner of reforms are possible under the current INEC?”
As of the time of filing this report, Wike and his media team had not issued any response to the remarks.
