Father Impregnates Teenage Daughter, Attempts To Terminate It
A father, Ganiyu Aikore has allegedly impregnated his 17-year-old daughter (name withheld) in the Mokola Isale Tapa area of Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Osun Defender gathered that the suspect approached a nearby pharmaceutical store to procure what was suspected to be abortion pills after discovering that he had gotten his daughter pregnant.
The daughter having suspected that her father was about to terminate the pregnancy with the help of other concerned residents, approached the chairman of the community about the incident.
The chairman it was learnt, took the daughter to the Adatan Police Division where a complaint was filed against the father.
Confirming the incident on Wednesday, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, said Aikore was suspected to have had carnal knowledge of his daughter, adding that the pregnancy was precisely 23 weeks.
She said, “We have arrested him. He was suspected to have been sexually involved with his teenage daughter for a very long time. The pregnancy is 23 weeks. We are conducting further investigation.”
