THE bill for the establishment of a Federal College of Agriculture in Ijebu-Ijesa, State of Osun, has passed third reading during the plenary session of the House of Representatives in Abuja, on Wednesday.
The bill was sponsored by the lawmaker representing Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency, Hon. Wole Oke, titled: “A Bill for An Act to Provide for Establishment of Federal College of Agriculture, Ijebu-Ijesha, and for related matters”.
The bill is now set to get the Senate concurrence to see it through to the President for his assent.
Oke, who is elated that the bill has passed third reading, stressed the need for knowledge acquisition in the agriculture sector, stating that Osun was known for its agricultural exploits.
He said there is urgent need to establish the College of Agriculture to ensure the teeming and future agriculturalists have a suitable place to acquire needed knowledge in industrial agriculture practice and related matters.
