The lawmaker representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Olaide Akinremi Jagaban has congratulated the new principal officers of the Green Chamber.
Hon. Akinremi posited that the announcement of the new principal officers by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abass is a step in the right direction to put the 10th Assembly on track.
Abass had on Wednesday announced Hon. Julius Ihonvbere (APC/Edo) as Majority Leader, Hon. Abdullahi Halims (APC/Kogi) – Deputy Leader, Hon. Bello Kumo (APC/Kebbi) – Chief Whip, and Hon. Adewunmi Onanuga (APC/Ogun) as the Deputy Chief Whip.
Similarly, Hon. Kingsley Chinda (PDP/Rivers) is the Minority Leader, alongside his colleagues in the minority caucus.
In a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Tuesday, Hon. Akinremi lauded his colleagues for agreeing to lead their caucuses in the interest of ensuring qualitative legislation for Nigerians.
“I congratulate my colleagues both in my party, the APC, and the opposition parties for resolving the headship of our different caucuses with a great sense of maturity.
“Now that the leadership of the 10th House of Representatives has taken shape, we can all be under the leadership of our very committed and patriotic Speaker, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abass settled down to the business of law-making, oversight, and delivering equitable oversight of the executive to the Nigerian people.
“I urge fellow lawmakers to continue their unflinching support for the leadership of the 10th Assembly, as our leaders are the best fit for the job.”
He also sought the support of the people for the administration of President Bola Tinubu to deliver his Renewed Hope Agenda to Nigerians.
“It is clear that the administration of President Tinubu is unequivocally committed to institutionalising good governance across all facets of the country’s socio-economic life.
“I am particularly that the administration has one of us, the experienced and versatile Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila as Chief of Staff to The President has started well and is on track to deliver good governance to us. Let us all support him,” Hon. Akinremi Jagaban stated.
