A group of stakeholders in Ede land, State of Osun, Ede Forum For Justice and Fairness has alleged the Screening Committee on the appointment of a substantive Rector for Federal Polytechnic, Ede, of giving undue favour to one of the candidates jostling for the position above others.
In an open letter signed by its Chairman, Mr Abidoye Isiaka and addressed to President Muhammadu Buhari, the group alleged that due process was not being followed by the screening committee saddled with the responsibility of appointing a new head for the institution.
The letter reads, “Sir, this is to bring to your notice seeming injustice and partiality that are evolving in the process for the appointment of a substantive Rector for the Federal Polythecnic Ede, in Osun State.
“We have the duty as concerned stakeholders in Ede community and group that believes in the steady educational and social development of Federal Polytechnic, Ede, which is located in the ancient town to let you know that due process is not being followed by the screening committee saddled with the responsibility of appointing a new head for the institution.
“The committee had already screened 22 candidates, jostling to become the rector of the institution. However, one of the candidates is being unduly favoured over others.
“It is also critical to let you know that one of the candidates who is eminently qualified was surprisingly scored zero in international journal publication despite having enough international and local journals to his credit.
“We want your quick intervention to entrench justice, equity and fairness before the situation degenerates. Thanks for your understanding and anticipated quick response”, the letter read.
