FG Negotiating Team Meets Tinubu, As President Expected To Increase Minimum Wage

Members of the Tripartite Committee on the New National Minimum Wage on Tuesday met with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

This was coming after the suspension of the strike for five days by the organised Labour comprising of the Nigeria Labour Congress, (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress, (TUC).

The meeting according to the report was to inform the President of the ongoing negotiation and the next line of action following the promise to pay above N60,000 as minimum wage.

The President is expected to give the team a new offer to be made to labour.

Among those sighted by Daily Trust were the Minister of Finance and coordinating minister of the economy, Wale Edun, the Minister of Budget and National Planning, Atiku Bagudu, the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited, CEO of NNPCL, Mele Kyari.

The Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila is also attending the meeting.
