Fire Razes Former Governor’s House In Kano
Fire has razed part of the Mundubawa residence of former Kano Governor Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident took place on Sunday evening, resulting in the destruction of the living room belonging to Shekarau’s second wife, Halima. Fortunately, there were no casualties reported.

It was reported that personnel from the State Fire Service made diligent efforts to quell the flames.
The exact cause of the fire remained unclear, although a family insider indicated that it allegedly originated from the kitchen.
“I think the fire started from the inner kitchen. We thank God the fire only affected one of Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau’s sitting rooms and already the Fire Service officials are working to extinguish it,” a source said.
Confirming the incident, Malam Shekarau’s Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr Sule Ya’u Sule, said the fire started from the inner kitchen of the house which is at the ground floor of the mansion.
“We thank God that the fire only affected one of Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau’s living rooms and already men of the State Fire Service have successfully put off the fire.,” he stressed.
Spokesman for Kano State Fire Service, Saminu Abdullahi, also confirmed the Incident.
Abdullahi was still at the scene of the fire disaster while fielding questions from newsmen.
He said he could not comment much on anything that got to do with the inferno at the moment “because we are still trying to make sure the fire does not spread to other places.”
