Fire Razes Lagos Market, Destroys Goods Worth Millions Of Naira
Fire has razed Ajah Market, near Alesh Bus Stop in the Lekki area of Lagos State.
It was gathered that the fire outbreak which occurred on Sunday evening by 9 pm destroyed goods valued to be worth millions of naira.
It was further gathered that the fire started around 9 pm, engulfing several shops and stores filled with combustible materials.
Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), in a statement, confirmed that the agency, in collaboration with the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Services, responded swiftly to contain the fire.

Oke-Osanyintolu said the cause of the fire was still unknown at the time of filing this report.
However, no casualties or injuries were reported, as traders were absent due to the market being closed for Sunday.
“The LASEMA Response Team, in collaboration with the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, successfully contained the fire, preventing it from spreading to adjacent structures.
“Efforts are currently underway to fully extinguish the fire and recover any remaining valuables,” Oke-Osanyintolu added.
