The Osun State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed the death of five persons in an accident that occurred along the Ilesa-Ife expressway.

A statement by the Public Enlightenment Officer, Agnes Ogungbemi, on behalf of the Sector Commander, noted that the accident, which occurred around 10:20 a.m., involved a Hilux car with registration number FKJ691HZ and a trailer.

According to the statement, the accident was caused by a road traffic violation.

The deceased included three male adults, one female adult, and a child, while a female adult survived the accident.

The survivor was traveling with her family and her housemaid, according to the statement.

The injured victim, according to the statement was taken to Mayowa Hospital, Ipetumodu, while the dead bodies were taken to OAUTH mortuary.

The statement added that the driver of the truck is presently in NPF custody and will be charged to court.

The statement warned road users to desist from the offence of route violation and excessive speeding.
