The Ekiti State Secretariat of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) was on Tuesday razed by unknown hoodlums suspected to be political thugs.
OSUN DEFENDER gathered that the attack occurred ahead of the scheduled inauguration of its new executives later today.
When our reporter visited the building located along Basiri road in Ado-Ekiti, properties destroyed included the newly painted building, a 1,000-capacity canopy with chairs and another smaller canopy meant for the event.
Eyewitnesses said the incident happened in the early hours of today, leaving the venue in ruins before the arrival of party members.
ADC members, who condemned the act, described it as a deliberate attempt to frustrate the party’s activities ahead of the next election cycle.
They called on security agencies to investigate the incident and bring the perpetrators to justice, saying such acts of political intolerance should not be allowed in Ekiti State.
