Three years ago, former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, made a bold declaration of lifelong loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a live media chat broadcast across Kaduna-based radio stations, El-Rufai dismissed speculations of his defection, asserting that the party was like his own child.

“I am one of the 37 people that formed the nucleus of the APC. The moment I leave APC, then I have quit politics altogether,” he vowed.
