A National Diploma graduate of Computer Science from Osun State College of Technology, Esa-Oke, simply identified as Ayo Malik has reported himself to the police after a 22-year-old student of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), identified as Faderera Oloyede died in his room in Iree on Tuesday.
According to reports, Oloyede, a 200 level student of Mathematics Education at FUOYE, had accompanied her friend, Kemisola Adewusi, who was visiting her boyfriend, Malik in Iree on Monday.
Adewusi is said to be a student of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.
OSUN DEFENDER gathered that Malik, who was living in a hostel along Koko campus of Iree, bought cooked rice for his visitors on Tuesday morning.
While eating the food, it was reported that Oloyede complained of stomach pain and fainted.
Adewuyi, who was eating the food with her (Oloyede) also slumped and sustained serious injury while trying to pour water on her friend.
The duo hails from Ipetu-Ijesa in Oriade Local Government of the State of Osun.
Malik who reportedly graduated last year from OSCOTECH was said to have fled when he discovered that Oloyede had given up on Tuesday.
But he reportedly showed up in a lawyer’s office in Osogbo on Wednesday afternoon.
The lawyer, according to reports, took Malik to the Police Station in Iree from where he was taken to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Osogbo, alongside Adewuyi, his girlfriend.
The remains of the deceased were deposited at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Teaching Hospital, Osogbo by the police.
Police Public Relations Officer, Osun Command, Mrs. Yemisi Opalola confirmed the incident, saying that investigation has commenced on the matter.
