Larry Nassar is never to see the light of day as a freeman as he has been given an addition sentence of 40 to 125 years in prison, after the first sentence of 40 to 175 years.
Larry Nassar who is a former gymnastics physician was convicted as a sexual abuser.
Larry was sentenced by Judge Janice Cunningham after he pleaded guilty to three counts of criminal sexual conduct in Eaton County on Monday, separate charges from the seven counts of criminal sexual conduct in Ingham County for which Judge Rosemarie Aquilina sentenced him to prison on January 24.
CNN reports that this is Nassar’s third concurrent prison sentence in total, including Aquilina’s 40-to-175-year sentence in January and a separate 60-year sentence handed down in December.
Before Judge Cunningham who presided over the third sentencing hearing, passed her verdict, she told the disgraced doctor:
“I am not convinced that you truly understand that what you did was wrong and the devastating impact you’ve had on the victims, family, and friends. You will be left to sit there with only the memories of destroying your own family. I do not believe that you will have the ability to shut out the words of the children, and the young women and the adults who trusted you and who you let down. That will be your lifetime consequence.”
In court, Nassar apologized to his victims saying: “It’s impossible to convey the depth and breadth of how sorry I am to each and everyone involved. The visions of your testimonies will forever be present in my thoughts,” he said.
The former gymnastics doctor is said to have sexually abused more than 150 female athletes who were under his care
