As Christians celebrate Easter, a former lawmaker, Hon. Gbenga Ogunkanmi, has asked Nigerians not to lose hope in the goodness of God, despite the challenges of today.
He urged them to seek the face of God and have faith in His power to do all things.
Ogunkanmi, who represented Ayedire State Constituency in the Osun State House of Assembly (2019-2023), in an Easter message, admonished Christians to reflect on the lessons in the feast of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, which signifies victory over death in Christendom.
According to him, “Let us remember to pray that the spirit of Easter, selflessness, forgiveness, and the victory of good over evil prevail this season and beyond.”
“We Christians must pray and work for peace to reign, as this is a major step in achieving a prosperous Nigeria.
” I ask you to continue to imbibe the spirit of peaceful co-existence, unity, and love for one another, which are the ideals and principles on which our dear state is founded.
“The commendable acts of residents in often rallying around each other in challenging moments, irrespective of religious or ethnic differences, are an indication that the dreams of our founding fathers in creating Osun as a center of unity have taken deep roots and are flourishing.
“Let us all preach love and oneness wherever we find ourselves. We cannot witness meaningful development without love, tolerance, and lending help to everyone, wherever we are,” he stated.
