Former SDP Governorship Candidate Defects to APC
Former governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the 2023 Taraba State election, Danladi Baido Tijo, has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Baido announced his defection on Tuesday during a meeting with members of his campaign council at his residence in Jalingo, the state capital.
He said his decision to join the APC was motivated by the remarkable developmental achievements of Governor Agbu Kefas within less than two years in office.
Baido described Kefas as a visionary and inclusive leader with a transformative agenda focused on uniting Taraba beyond political, religious, and ethnic divisions.
He urged the electorate, youths, and political groups to support the Kefas administration in sustaining the delivery of democratic dividends across the state.
A.A. Liman and Senator Ibrahim Goje, in their remarks, commended Baido for what they described as a courageous and patriotic decision made in the interest of Taraba State.
Leaders of Baido’s campaign groups also pledged their loyalty and support as he begins a new political journey with the APC.
