Fountain University Awards First Degrees To 319 Students

No fewer than 319 students would be awarded first degrees by Fountain University in the State of Osun, during its 8th convocation ceremony on the 14th of January, 2019.
Out of the 319 students, 22 would be graduating with First Class Honours, 119 with Second Class Honours (Upper Division), 165 with Second Class Honours (Lower Division) and 13 with Third Class Honours.
During a media parley on Wednesday, the institution’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Amidu Sanni, revealed that the convocation lecture titled” Knowledge that is of benefit: Religious Education in Time, Space, and National Development” would be delivered by Toyin Falola, a Professor of Humanities, University of Texas.
Listing the university’s achievements so far, the VC revealed that all the courses in the institution are fully accredited by the National Universities Commission, NUC.
“We are planning a documentary and a virtual interactive reality tours which can be submitted onto Google Street. Applicants, parents and entire world can thus interact with the University from wherever they are without visiting Osogbo.
“Books for Africa recently donated 3,000 volumes to the University Library. The UAE government is also coming on board now to assist the University in terms of infrastructure, and the Islamic Development Bank has pledged some assistance too”, he added.
Other activities lined up for the event included an awareness trek around the city of Osogbo on Thursday, the convocation lecture on Friday, a friendly football match on Saturday and Alumni day and Award night on Saturday and a special devotional service on Sunday
