Osun State Police Command last Wednesday arraigned Owonifari Suraju, 33; Kayode Samson, 30; Bamidele Ishola, 33; and Jimoh Muhammed, 26 before an Osogbo Magistrate Court for allegedly stealing planks worth N150,000. The charge sheet read in the court disclosed that the accused persons committed the offence on 16th of October, 2017 at about 8:30 pm at LATC Elementary School testing ground area, Osogbo.
It revealed that the accused persons conspired together to a committed felony and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 516 of the state criminal code cap 2003. It was disclosed that the accused persons stole the planks worth N150,000 property of LATC Elementary School and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 390 (9) of the state criminal law.
It further revealed that the accused persons stole iron sheet, the property of LATC Elementary School valued N50,000 and committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 227 of the state penal code 2003. The defence counsel, JP Jones prayed the court to admit the accused persons to bail in the most liberal terms.
The presiding magistrate, Adenike Olowolagba ordered that the accused persons should be remanded at Ilesa prison till 29th November, 2017 for hearing.
