Four persons were sentenced to life imprisonment for the rape of a 14-year-old girl (name withheld) in Kurmi quarters, Gwaram Local Government Area of Jigawa state.
They were sentenced by a Jigawa State High Court.
The convicts are; Sale Ibrahim (40), Amadu Saleh (46), Sale Ali (40), and Danmami Yusuf (37).
They were found guilty of the offence of rape under Section 3 (1) and punishable under Section 3 (2a & 2b) of the VAPP Laws of Jigawa State.
The prosecution during the trial, presented four witnesses, including a medical report, and tendered two exhibits to support their case.
The court after hearing from both parties, concluded that the prosecution had proven its case beyond a reasonable doubt.
