Fracas Over Network Cable Leaves 2 Police, NSCDC Officers Injured
There was a mild drama at Papeiri village, Gitata District, Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, as two security agents clashed over a network cable.
Two security agents were said to have been injured in the clash.
The security agencies were said to have fought over who would take cables dismantled from a telecommunication mast in Gitata.
Confirming the incident in Lafia, the state capital, on Tuesday, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Mr. Jerry Victor, said personnel of the corps and the Nigeria Police Force fought over the cables.
He said, “Three of our personnel were involved in the fight, and in the process, one of them and a police officer were injured.”
The State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Umar Shehu Nadada, when contacted, said the DPO in Gitata had briefed him and he had interfaced with the state commandant of the NSCDC and resolved the issue.
