Fulham Hold Man United To 1-1 Draw
Manchester United’s wait for a first league victory of the season continued on Sunday after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Fulham at Craven Cottage.
United had the chance to take the lead in the 38th minute when Bruno Fernandes stepped up for a penalty, but the captain fired over the bar to the relief of the home supporters.
Erik ten Hag’s men eventually broke the deadlock in the 58th minute, though in fortuitous fashion, as Leny Yoro’s header from a corner deflected off Rodrigo Muniz and rolled over the line for an own goal.
The setback spurred Fulham into action, and Marco Silva’s side grew stronger as the game progressed. Their pressure paid off in the 73rd minute when substitute Emile Rowe latched on to a clever pass from Alex Iwobi and calmly slotted home to draw the hosts level.
Fulham pushed for a late winner and carved out more openings, while United struggled to regain their rhythm in the closing stages. However, neither side could find a decisive second goal.
The result leaves United still chasing their first Premier League win of the campaign, while Fulham will take encouragement from a resilient second-half display that earned them a point.
