Some Nigerians are gearing up to protest against economic hardship under the banner of ‘EndBadGovernance’ from August 1 to 10.

This planned demonstration is becoming a hot topic on social media, drawing increasing attention and support from various quarters.

The protest is expected to take place across all states in Nigeria, including the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

This widespread mobilization indicates a significant level of discontent and a desire for change among the populace.

Interestingly, the organizers of this movement have chosen to remain anonymous, with no specific group stepping forward to claim responsibility. This anonymity adds a layer of intrigue and mystery to the event, making it difficult to pinpoint the exact leadership behind the call to action.

The timing of the August 1 protest is noteworthy, as it follows similar demonstrations recently held in Kenya. Some experts suggest that the Nigerian organizers may have been inspired by the Kenyan protests, seeing them as a model for expressing discontent over economic issues.

As part of moves to placate aggrieved citizens, the President sent a bill to raise the minimum wage from N30,000 to N70,000 to the National Assembly this week. Both chambers of the legislature speedily passed the bill on Tuesday, awaiting the President’s assent.
