Funke Akindele Breaks Records With Second UK Screen Sellout

 

Award-winning actress Funke Akindele has achieved a significant milestone as her movie, Everybody Loves Jenifa, sold out a second screen ahead of its UK premiere set for December 20, 2024.

Taking to Instagram today, Akindele expressed her gratitude to fans, writing, “Jenifans!!!!!!! You’ve outdone yourselves again History made as the second screen for Everybody Loves Jenifa December 20th UK premiere is SOLD OUT.”

This marks a historic moment for Nigerian cinema, as it is the first time a Nigerian film has sold out two screens ahead of its UK premiere.

Nile Media Entertainment, the international distributor of the film, confirmed the achievement in a statement: “History made. Everybody Loves Jenifa becomes the first Nigerian film to sell out 2 screens before premiere.

“Jenifans, you’ve shattered records back-to-back ahead of December 20th UK premiere. Thank you all for your unwavering support and love.

The distributor also announced that the film has secured distribution rights across six continents, highlighting its global appeal.

In a video shared on social media, Akindele projected that the film could generate N5 billion in revenue, confidently declaring, “We are making N5 billion this year.”

This achievement cements Akindele’s status as a trailblazer in Nollywood, with Everybody Loves Jenifa poised to break further records on its international release.
