The Governing Council of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has sacked the registrar of the university, Mr Olatunbosun Odusanya, a week after he was suspended for gross misconduct.
Recall that the management had last week Tuesday announced the suspension of the registrar to allow for investigations into series of allegations ranging from irregular appointments into the institution between August 20, 2020, and February 2021.
This was disclosed In a statement signed by the Chief Information Officer, in the VC’s office, Mr Folusho Ogunmodede and the Special Adviser to the VC Media, Wole Balogun.
According to the statement, “His sack, however, was approved by the University Governing Council on Tuesday after critically looking at a report by the Council Disciplinary Committee set up to review the report of the Investigative Committee which reviewed all appointments during the said period”.
In another development, the council subsequently approved Mr Mufutau Ibrahim as the institution’s acting registrar.
On his part, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abayomi Fasina, called on staff of the university not to panic over the development, saying that his administration would not witch-hunt workers in the institution.
