The Lagos State Governance Advisory Council (GAC) and other APC chieftains have waded into the raging feud between Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the State House of Assembly.
The State Assembly had on 23 August, 2023, rejected 17 of the 39 cabinet nominees forwarded to it by Sanwo-Olu for screening and confirmation.
The rejection caused serious turbulence in the state as many people attributed the Assembly‘s action to a battle between its Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa and Sanwo-Olu.
Obasa’s speakership was not supported by Sanwo-Olu, as he was said to have supported another lawmaker, Abiodun Tobun.
A few days ago, Obasa, during the sitting of the House said the lawmakers would not succumb to intimidation by anybody over its action in axing Sanwo-Olu’s nominees.
But on Wednesday, the GAC and top All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftains in Lagos met with Sanwo-Olu and Obasa at the State House, Marina to resolve the matter.
