The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi in the presence of other Yoruba Obas has formally installed Otunba Gani Adams as the 15th Are Ona Kakanfo of Yoruba land.
The pronunciation was made after the ritual of the the New Are paying homage to the past 14 kakanfos, represented with the calabash symbolising their reigns.
Are Gani Adams thus prayed for the peace of Yoruba land after which he was led to a temporary seclusion.
His emergence from the room made him pronounced as the Aare Ona Kakanfo
