President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday received some new members of the ruling All Progressives Congress at the Aso Villa.
Gbenga Daniel, Dimeji Bankole are former Governor of Ogun State and Ex speaker of the House of Representatives respectively.
Bankole who was elected Speaker HoR on the platform of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), defected to the APC from Action Democratic Party (ADP), while Daniel moved from PDP.
The Chairman, Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee of the APC and Governor of Yobe, Mai Mala Buni, accompanied the duo to the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Governors of Jigawa, Mohammed Badaru, and Kebbi, Atiku Bagudu, also joined their new party chieftains in the visit.
Daniel, the Ogun Sate Governor between 2003 and 2011, had a running battle with Bankole, who was speaker between 2007 and 2011.
The last few months, the ruling All Progressives Congress has witnessed massive defection from the PDP and other parties.
