Generator Repairer Bags 7 Years Jail Term For Defiling, Impregnating Customer’s Daughter

A generator repairer in Rivers State, Anayor Ugo, has been sentenced by a Magistrate Court sitting in Port Harcourt to seven years imprisonment without the option of a fine for defiling and impregnating a 12-year-old girl.

The convict was said to have visited the home of the victim sometime in 2021 in Oyigbo to repair their generator set on the directives of the victim’s father, but defiled her in the process.

The convict during the trial, admitted having carnal knowledge of the girl, but denied getting her pregnant, claiming he was seduced.

Chief Magistrate, Rita Oguguo, in her judgment, said the prosecution was able to prove their case that the girl was defiled through evidence and personal admission of the accused.

She thereafter sentenced him to seven years imprisonment without an option of fine, following his plea for mercy after conviction.
