Genocide Claim: Tinubu To Visit U.S. Amid Trump Threat

President Bola Tinubu is set to visit the United States on Tuesday amid tensions over U.S. President Donald Trump’s threat of military action against Nigeria.

According to SaharaReporters, presidential sources said that Tinubu will hold diplomatic meetings in Washington this week.

The medium said Vice President James David Vance is expected to receive the Nigerian leader on Trump’s behalf, barring any last-minute changes.

Trump had accused the Nigerian government of allowing the killing of Christians and warned that the U.S. military could “go in guns-blazing.”

He also threatened to cut off American aid if the alleged attacks on Christians persist.

Reacting, the Nigerian Presidency dismissed the genocide claim, insisting Nigeria guarantees religious freedom under its constitution.

President Bola Tinubu also said his administration continues to promote unity and peaceful coexistence among all faiths.

He reaffirmed that Nigeria will keep working with the U.S. and global partners to ensure security and protect citizens of every religion.
