Government Seals Heritage Bank

Heritage Bank has been sealed by the government, Osun Defender can authoritatively report. The closure this medium gathered, is not unconnected with the bank’s inability to pay its taxes and levies.

Leading an enforcement team of the Oyo State Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, the Director, Land Use Charge, Esv. Olufisayo Ogunbiyi, said before the closure, the government had served notices of non-compliance on the bank, but it refused to comply with relevant laws.

The enforcement team also sealed different branches of Access banks in the Ibadan Metropolis over non-payment of taxes to the government.

According to the Director, Land Use Charge, the financial institutions will remain closed to customers until the organisations pays their land use charge, noting that the Oyo State Government has zero tolerance for non-compliance to its policies, hence all business owners should ensure payment of charges to the state government account to ensure their businesses are not disrupted as the exercise is still continuing.

The Director, Land Use Charge equally appealed to residents of the state to contact the Oyo State Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development on 0700 OYO LANDS (070069652637) or send an email to lands@oyostate.gov.ng for enquiries.

Amongst the team that went out for the enforcement are Land Officers as well as representatives of Private Networks Nigeria Ltd, the IGR Consultant for Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development.
