Government Slams BudgiT Over Inaccurate Analysis And Other Newspaper Headlines Today

The government of the state of Osun during the week slammed BudgiT, for inaccurate and false presentation of the state’s debt profile and downplaying the government’s developmental project by distorting its economic and revenue prospects. This was discussed in details in Osun Defender newspaper this morning, following a report from BudgiT with wrong explanation of the debt profile of the State.

Moving to the Oil sector, the Federal Government on Thursday said the United Kingdom had returned $85 million as part of the stolen funds from the Malabu $1.1 billion oil deal. This was revealed in the Independent newspaper whose headline reads; $1.1bn Malabu Oil Deal: Uk Returns $85m to Nigeria.

The Guardian informed its readers about the outrage that ensued as the police stopped the meeting of the general assembly of Pan Niger Delta Elders Forum (PANDEF) in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, yesterday. The headline read; Police abort meeting of Niger Delta Leaders, with the elders saying the action was dangerous because it would send a bad signal that the government did not appreciate the efforts of the group.

Nigeria Tribune raps it up for news newspaper headlines today quoting the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris on the car gift controversy saying- I approved 2 vehicles for Aisha’s ADC. In details he denied that he gave two Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs) to wife of the president, Haija Aisha Buhari, explaining that the vehicles he approved were for police personnel I her convoy.
