Governor Gboyega Oyetola has appointed Sheik Maaruf Olawale Ishola, the Grand Mufty of Osogbo as the new Amir-Hajj of the state of Osun for the 2019 Hajj operations.
Sheik Ishola’s Appointment came on Friday as friends, family and well-wishers congratulated him on his new position.
The erudite Islamic scholar will be the leader of the state’s contingent to the 2019 Hajj exercise in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Until his appointment, Ishola is the Mufasir and third in command to the Chief Imam of Osogbo.
Sheik Ishola holds a Masters Degree in Arabic and Islamic Studies from the University of Ilorin. He also holds a Bachelors Degree in the field. He is a revered Islamic scholar in Osogbo and environs with his Arabic and Islamic School.
Before his elevation as the Mufasir, Ishola is notable in Osogbo and the stage for his depth of knowledge in delivering well researched and focused driven lectures on varying platforms which earned him the nickname “Al-Bayaan.”
