Trustee of the Vocation Realize on Agriculture Empowerment Foundation (VRAEF), Marcel Onyema, has urged government at all levels and philanthropic Nigerians to partner with credible foundations to open new doors of opportunities for thousands of unemployed youths in the country.
He said VRAEF, as a foundation, focused on empowering youths in agricultural projects like farming, fishing, husbandry, poultry, laboratory storage, grazing, livestock supplies, multi-crop farming, specialized farming, ranching and other related agricultural activities.
Onyeama said the foundation was a non-profit and non- political organization registered in Nigeria to undertake agric projects.
He said, “In the past months, the newspapers are awash with articles of plans of the government to create employment opportunities through agriculture and also meet with food production. Nigeria as a nation had wasted a lot of opportunities to achieve food sufficiency, agricultural and agro business hub in Africa due to corrupt practices and inconsistencies in policies.’’
According to him, VRAEF after years of studies and research on how to promote peace, eradicate poverty came up with the concept of global development policy through education and agriculture.
