Group Expels Atiku’s Son Over Defection To APC

A pro-Atiku Abubakar group has officially expelled the son of the former vice president, Abba, for defecting to the All Progressives Congress.

The development was disclosed by Mai Bakari, convener of the Atiku Haske Organisation, in a statement on Sunday.

It would be recalled that Abba on Thursday joined the ruling party, APC, after which he directed all coordinators and members of his political structure to immediately join the APC and mobilise support for Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda.

Reacting, Bakari said the former vice president’s son has no locus in deciding for the group which party or candidate to support.

According to the statement, Abba is not the founder or originator of the Atiku Haske Organisation and lacks the authority to decide for the group.

“We founded the Atiku Haske Organisation, and we merely invited Abba to join the group. Abba has neither contributed a naira to the activities of the group nor possesses the certificate of registration of the group. We are therefore under no obligation or duty to adhere to any directive by him.

“On the contrary, he is the one who is subject to our regulations, and evidently, he has fallen short of expectations by our standards and has been expressly dismissed as a member.

“The Atiku Haske Organisation is not a party to, nor is it interested in joining Abba to defect to any other political party apart from the African Democratic Congress. We were formerly in the Peoples Democratic Party, and we resolved as an organization to move en masse to the ADC,” he stated.
