Revealing the type of successor they want for the sitting governor of the state of Osun, members and supporters of the ruling All Progressives Congress in the State of Osun have been called upon to consider the various ongoing developmental projects across the state as the main parameter for the 2018 governorship election.
This formed part of the communique issued at the inaugural meeting of a socio-political group, Osun New Era Group held in Osogbo on Tuesday.
According to the communique signed by the group Coordinator, Hon. Raheem Jamiu, the party’s immense contribution to the state’s development since Governor Rauf Aregbesola’s inauguration in 2010 has remained unequalled since the state was created in 1991.
The group further advised that the numerous developmental strides of the current administration in the state will amount to naught should an unworthy successor take over from the incumbent Governor.
In his address at the meeting, the group coordinator, Raheem emphasised the need for the state electorate to consolidate on the ongoing developmental projects started by the Aregbesola administration.
The group leader enjoined the residents and indigenes of the state to continue to support the APC-led administration, especially in the face of the current economic challenges across the country.
Members of the group also eulogised the state Governor, Aregbesola on the recent commissioning of the ultra-modern Ilesa Government High School among various others located across the state.
The inaugural meeting had members of the party from all the council areas across the state in attendance.
