Gunmen have reportedly abducted no fewer than 18 passengers from a commercial bus in the Ibarapa area of Oyo State.
Osun Defender learnt that the passengers were going to Oyo State from Abeokuta, when the bus taking them was attacked and pressured to stop by the gunmen.
Residents living in the area could not find out the actual number of people in the bus and all the passengers were said to have been taken away by the gunmen.
The Secretary of Farmers Union in Ibarapa, Taiwo Adeagbo, said that the incident happened on Thursday morning between Igboora and Eruwa Road.
He further said, kidnapping has become a daily incident in the area saying some residents are cospiring with outsiders to carry out the crime and he has reported to the police, senator and others.
The Convener of Igangan Development Advocates, Oladiran Oladokun, also confirmed the development and the Police Public Relations Officer in Oyo State Command, Adewale Osifeso, couldn’t be reached as at the time of filing this report.
