Gunmen Attack Anambra LG Headquarters

Gunmen on Friday invaded Ogbaru Local Government Secretariat, Anambra State, destroying some buildings and other properties.

The gunmen, it was gathered arrived in their numbers and opened fire, destroying buildings within the headquarters of the council area.

Confirming the incident, the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said: “The attack was on Ogbaru LGA in the early hours of today, 30/8/2024.

“Security operatives gallantly resisted the gunmen, but some LGA properties were destroyed, some buildings were also affected, but no lives were lost.”

He said a joint security operation was ongoing in the area.

This would not be the first time Ogbaru Local Government headquarters has been attacked by gunmen.
