Some suspected gunmen reportedly engaged officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in a gun shootout in Lagos.
It was learnt that the daring confrontation happened on Awolowo road when officials of the federal law enforcement agency were trying to arrest the driver of a truck loaded with several bags of Cannabis.
A source who spoke with Vanguard disclosed that the armed men suspected to belong to a yet-to-be-identified security agency also smashed one of the operational vehicles of the anti-narcotic agency.
It was, however, gathered that some military men intervened in the shoot-out which happened on Awolowo road in Lagos, and prevented what would have resulted in a blood bath.
