The assailants, who arrived on over 50 motorcycles, also looted and set ablaze shops and houses.
The attack was confirmed by the Yobe State Police Command spokesperson, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim.
According to DSP Abdulkarim, “We are yet to ascertain the number of lives lost in the incident, which occurred at about 4pm on Sunday in the remote village.”
The attack was reported by Babagana Goni and Bako Ibrahim, both residents of Mafa, to the Tarmuwa Divisional Police Station.
