Gunmen Invade Abuja Estate, Abduct 8 Persons

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers invaded Sagwari layout estate on Dutse axis of Bwari Area Council of the FCT and abducted eight persons.

A resident of Dutse, Emmanuel Shagari,  said the incident happened around 11:47 pm on Sunday, when the gunmen wielding sophisticated weapons attacked the estate.

He said the gunmen, who gained entrance into the estate bank fence, invaded some flats and whisked away eight persons at gunpoint.

Shagari added that the gunmen operated quietly without shooting guns to avoid attracting the attention of neighbours to the estate.

He said the gunmen before moving out their victims, tied down the security guard with a rope and went away with his phone.

He said security operatives were alerted after the gunmen had left with their victims, adding that the security operatives are working with other security agents to go after the gunmen.

When contacted, the spokeswoman of the FCT Police Command, SP Adeh Josephine, did not reply to a text message sent to her as at the time of filing the report.
