A renowned Christian music composer and the National Music Director for the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Jude Nnam, also known as Ancestor, was abducted on Friday evening, in Umunnachi, Anambra State.
He had traveled to the state for a church program when the incident occurred. Rev. Fr. Augustine Mario confirmed the news via social media, asking for prayers for Nnam’s safe return: “Please kindly keep Sir Dr. Jude Nnam (Ancestor) in your prayers. He was allegedly kidnapped yesterday evening around 6 p.m. in Umunnachi, Anambra State.”

Another Catholic priest expressed his dismay, commenting, “If this is true, then it is a huge shame. I’m simply tired of this unfortunate space called Nigeria. Why this type of pain and frustration now? Anyway, I just hope this isn’t true. Jude Nnam Ancestor! It is well. Fada Mentor.”
Nnam had recently celebrated his 50th birthday and ministered at the Unusual Praise 2024 event in Onitsha, further cementing his influential role in Nigerian Christian music.
